Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga for Moms & Teens

August 16 @ 4:00 pm 8:00 pm

A fun evening at Wells Harbor learning how to take your yoga balance to the next level.

Most people have at least tried yoga, and some have tried stand-up paddle (SUP) boarding, but who’s done both at one time?! This therapeutic activity sounds tough, but we promise it doesn’t hurt to fall off a SUP board. Most people find their balance easily, and once you are surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the harbor, with birds swooping overhead in the gorgeous late afternoon light, you’ll feel a deep peace wash over you.

Come connect with other moms and teens that have experienced childhood cancer and child loss. Open your heart with deep, long breaths, and feel your strength and confidence grow. This is a beautiful experience that you and your teen will not forget. If you don’t have a teen child, you can still attend!

We’ll spend about an hour on the water, then head over to the pavilion for a lovely picnic dinner. Space is limited, so sign up soon…

Yoga For Grief

November 19 @ 6:00 pm 7:30 pm

Yoga is the body and heart-centered work we need to do to move grief and trauma through our psyche, leaving behind just pure love and gratitude for the person you lost.

Join Deana Cavan, RYT from Rett’s Roost and Michelle Verdi, RYT from Yoga East for an in-person donation-based class for the grieving body. We welcome all levels, including beginners to yoga, and all grievers, not just bereaved parents.

In the first part of the class we will incorporate readings, an offering to our loved ones, meditative exercises, and gentle body movement. In the second half of the class Michelle will offer reiki during a led Yoga Nidra meditation led by Deana.

This practice is meant to be restorative and spriritual, allowing you to reclaim your breath and appreciate the love for your beloved that still resides inside you. Yoga brings clarity to the often inaccurate and self-deprecating thoughts that surround our loss. And it opens our hearts up for love and gratitude to fill in the broken places. Reiki helps to clear the energetic blocks that hold us back from true healing.

If you lost a child, this class is free. If you’ve had another type of loss, please make a donation of at least $22 on our website. We will also accept cash, check, and venmo at the yoga studio.

This class will take place on November 19th from 6-7:30pm EDT at Yoga East in Kittery, ME and online. Space is limited in-person so please sign up online.
