Retreat

This is an opportunity for families whose child died of cancer or other chronic illness to participate in an intimate, supportive bereavement retreat at our Rett’s Roost Heart-quarters in Ogunquit, ME. If you’ve met other families during your grief journey, we encourage you to apply together. This is a chance for you to connect on a deeper level. We will be offering a 5-day, 4-night retreat for up to 8 bereaved families of a child with cancer this July at Ferry Beach Retreat Center in Saco, ME. Parents will be able to talk about grieving their child that died of cancer with others that understand, while children participate in more playful therapeutic activities. Think of it as a week-long support group interspersed with engaging, inspiring activities and personal connections to lift your spirits and lighten your hearts. The other exciting thing to note is that this retreat house is located just a few steps from a beautiful sandy beach with gentle lapping waves.

We’ll be holding an intimate, supportive Labor Day weekend getaway in Ogunquit, ME at our Rett’s Roost Heart-quarters for bereaved families who lost a child to cancer. The peer-to-peer connections forged at our retreats are one of the greatest sources of healing for those suffering the loss of a child or sibling. You will also receive both individual (talk, massage, writing) and group therapies (art, music, nature). Our retreat house is 1-mile from one of the most beautiful beaches in America. If you lost a child to cancer or a terminal illness, you may feel like there is no where to turn for support. But you are not alone. We’ve met nearly 200 parents grieving a young child since 2016. And our goal is to cultivate an empathetic community to ease the pain & suffering they carry. We’ll be hosting up to 12 parents on this 2-night stay at a beautiful home in Saco, ME.
