Yoga For Seasonal Anxiety & Depression
March 2 @ 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm
Wintering in a cold climate is a practice, just like yoga. If you don’t pay attention, your mood can easily turn to gloom and doom, and life can start to feel untenable. Taking care of one’s self in the wintertime should be a priority, especially if you are someone that avoids being outdoors in the colder temps, despises winter, or shows symptoms of seasonal affective disorder. For these folks, yoga is a perfect way to overcome the anxiety and depression that creeps in during the cold, dark, long months.
This class is accessible to anyone over 11 in moderately good health. No yoga experience is necessary. We will be moving, to create heat from within, and breathing, to stoke that internal fire. The practice will begin and end with meditative breath-work in a restorative pose, and in between, we’ll salute the sun, soften our effort, and strengthen our mind through a flowing sequence of asanas (poses).
Join us on 3/2 at 12pm EDT online or at Yoga East in Kittery, ME.

Please note that this yoga event is a donation-based class in support of the 3rd Annual Rett’s Roost Behold the Cold Polar Plunge happening the following day (please donate online or bring cash or check made out to Rett’s Roost to class). All funds raised will be used to help enrich the lives of families facing childhood cancer and child loss by providing them with peer support and therapies at our healing retreats. Donations are not required by families experiencing childhood cancer or child loss.
Find out how you can participate in the Polar Plunge too! Our community will be jumping into the ocean on March 3rd at 11am in Ogunquit (or any cold body of water near you).
