Behold the Cold Polar Plunge
March 10 All day
The 3rd Annual ‘Behold the Cold’ Polar Plunge in support of Rett’s Roost Retreats will be taking place both remotely (in any cold body of water) and in-person at Ogunquit’s Main Beach on March 3rd at 11am (extreme weather alternative – March 10th, 11am)!
Don’t miss this fun event–your bravery will match that of kids facing cancer treatment and their loving families. Couple new things for this year: We are charging a $15 registration fee for adults to help with fundraising efforts. And check out this new super cool swag you can purchase with a donation, including official Rett’s Roost Stanley Tumblers!
Sign up yourself and a buddy today! Or just buy the swag and come cheer on the dippers (use our registration site to purchase these items–no need to register to plunge)…

Why would I ever!!??
If you haven’t yet heard of the benefits of submerging one self into freezing cold water as a form of therapy, then let me share, because at Rett’s Roost we love to promote self-care and easy, inexpensive ways to therapeutically support our wellbeing during trying times. You may know of athletes that take cold water baths. This “shocking” therapy is shown to benefit many ailments and diseases, chronic pain, fatigue, and mitigate anxiety and depression (see Wim Hof method and WebMD’s endorsement). We know how long winter can feel in Maine, and to maintain our sanity, it’s imperative to embrace the cold and dark months of the year just as much as we treasure our Maine summers.
That is why we think ‘Behold the Cold’ is the perfect annual fundraiser for Rett’s Roost. It’s part of our mission to use nature to heal and to be fully present and aware of both the sorrow and the beauty all around us.
