DESCRIPTION:Superhero Family Fun Beach Run\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nShare a weekend with other families impacted by childhood cancer in a beautiful Maine beach town.\n\n\n\nHealing Nest Retreats bring together three families that have been impacted by childhood cancer\, for a fun and relaxing weekend in a beautiful rental home. You’ll have time to explore the idyllic town of Kennebunkport and the local beaches. \n\n\n\nEach family will have their own bedroom(s) and bathroom. We will offer optional activities to connect with each other\, including a delicious homemade dinner on Saturday night. We will also offer parents massages and family portrait sessions on the beach. \n\n\n\nDoes my family qualify? For this retreat\, we can accept 3 families that have a child that is in recovery from cancer treatment or similar pediatric illness. You must live within the 6 New England states or NY or NJ to apply. If you have attended our Positively Healing or Caring for the Caring Retreats in the past\, you still qualify to attend one Healing Nest Retreat. Due to the recent increased interest in our retreats\, after attending a specific type of retreat\, you must wait 3 years to attend that same retreat again. \n\n\n\nRett’s Roost retreats are nondenominational. We act\, and ask our participants to act\, without discriminating against any person or organization because of their race\, age\, nationality\, gender\, sexual orientation\, or religious belief. \n\n\n\nDeadline to Apply: April 15th\, 2026 \n\n\n\n\nApply Today!

DESCRIPTION:Superhero Family Fun Beach Run\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur favorite family-friendly fundraiser is back!\n\n\n\nOpen to our Rett’s Roost families and anyone that loves to run or walk on the beach*\n\n\n\n\n\nSIGN UP\n\n\n\nVOLUNTEER\n\n\n\nDONATE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSuperhero Costumes and Pride Flair are highly encouraged.\n\n\n\nDuring the Ogunquit Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Pride Celebration weekend\, on June 7th\, Rett’s Roost is hosting a family-friendly fundraising run/walk on the beach to honor all our super-families that have faced childhood cancer bravely\, who have had to be stronger than ever before\, whose courage shines on and on. \n\n\n\nTo make sure that runners don’t have to trudge through the soft sand\, we are selecting an event time of 10am-12pm to coincide with low tide. Free onsite parking will be offered to the first 30 cars to arrive. Carpooling is much appreciated! The race will begin at the Moody Point Beach Access. Runners will run or walk to the Norseman on Ogunquit Main Beach and back. Shorter kid sprints will take place at 10am with the main event starting at 10:30am. \n\n\n\nAges 4 and under: 50 Yard Dash\, 10amAges 5-7: 100 Yard Dash\, 10:10amAges 8-10: 200 Yard Dash\, 10:15amAll ages: 2.5 Mile Run/Walk\, 10:30am \n\n\n\nT-SHIRTS!\n\n\n\nAll runners/walkers can purchase a race shirt with their registration. To guarantee a race shirt in your size\, you must register by May 15th. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCrowdfund to Help us Raise $22\,222\n\n\n\nRegister you and your family or friends and a fundraising page will be set up automatically for you that you can share with friends and family. If you raise the minimum of $222\, your registration fee will be waived. The top three fundraisers will be selected to win a 2-night stay in downtown Ogunquit\, a free family breakfast at The Omelette Factory\, or a gift basket and gift card to Flips Shoe Shop. These prizes also come with free tickets to our Ogunquit Home and Garden Tour on September 19th! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWin a 2-night Stay in Ogunquit\n\n\n\nOn the weekend of September 18-20th\, 2026\, our top fundraiser will be awarded a free stay at this stylish coastal retreat centrally-located just two blocks from the heart of Ogunquit Village and a stone’s throw from Main Beach.  \n\n\n\nWith four levels of light and bright living space\, there is plenty of room for up to seven guests. An eat-in kitchen\, finished lower level\, and private fenced-in yard with charming Beacon Hill-style patio are just a few of the amenities you’ll enjoy! See more pictures here. \n\n\n\nOn the first floor\, you’ll find a well-appointed eat-in kitchen with six chair dining table\, sitting area\, and full bathroom. Next\, head downstairs to the lower level family room\, complete with 70-inch television\, brand new queen pop-up sleep sofa\, and full-size washer/dryer. The landscaped private fenced-in backyard can be accessed from here\, perfect for enjoying morning coffee or a cold beverage. Upstairs is where you’ll find the spacious primary bedroom with large closet and another full bathroom.
