Rett’s Roost Heart-quarters – Ogunquit, ME
Our bereavement retreat in August this year is for families that lost a child suddenly.
This is the first retreat we’ve held that is not specific to childhood cancer. We are opening up this retreat to families that lost a child under unexpected circumstances (does not need to be sudden death, but this is not for families with a child that passed of chronic illness). Children must have been under 17 at the time of death.
Our goal is to offer both reflective release and hopeful perspective to both parents and their surviving children. We expect new friendships to be formed between families.
This retreat runs from Thursday afternoon through Sunday morning so it provides more than two full days of therapeutic support and connecting with others. Besides allowing plenty of time to relax, we offer supportive, optional activities to connect with others and to heal within.
Each family will have their own bedroom (shared bathrooms). There is a hot tub available on-site and transit to the beach one day. Rett’s Roost staff will be providing delicious, healthy meals and snacks. We’ll be offering grief support, yoga, art, and music for both parents and children. Also, get a massage, energy treatment and professional outdoor family portraits taken.
